Description

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, peppery saison yeast, weedy notes and a little hairspray reminiscent of my mum in the 80s. Flavour is light the moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Light medium bodied with light carbonation.

750ml bottle. Murky, dark brown colour with absurdely huge, firm, thick, frothy, almost fully lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Herbal hoppy, fresh grassy aroma, roasty dark malty background; hints of coffee and green onion. Taste is roasty dark malty, minimally chocolately, hints of coffee, subtle dark malty sweetness, bitter, herbal-grassy, minimally chalky hoppy overtones, a peppery touch of green onion. Hopefully this BrouwLab experimental series results in the implementation of a regular India Black Ale - it’d be absolutely worthy.

33cl Bottle at THT. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of sauerkraut, slightly off, spice, fruity esters, Leffe Blond. Flavour is medium sweet, light sour-ish, fruity acidity, esters, yeast, sweet-sour finish with a little bitterness. Light to medium bodied. OK beer, but just a regular Belgian blond ale with a bit of sourness in my book.

42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to De Bois. Gusher. Almost clear dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and soft, mild fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, a little tangy. Touches of malt cream and dark chocolate. Trace of roast bitterness. Modest piney hop, in fact the hops are generally well buried. Airy finish. Not bad but more hops please!

Clear medium amber color, good two finger frothy off-white head, diminishing slowly, thick layer remains and good lacing; aroma is malt, wheat, caramel, floral notes; taste is medium sweet, slightly bitter, malty, sugary; light body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation, in the aftertaste very light sour twist; overall rather non-distinct.
