Sample, thanks to Kolshtrinker. Pours clear gold. Aroma is moderately sweet butterscotch. Taste presents a fairly strong butterscotch character, oily palate, light underlying sparkle. Can't imagine the butterscotch was intentional, so it feels a little odd. Not unpleasant, but perhaps not quite what was intended.

30/3/2019. Sample courtesy of Danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear very pale yellow gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of sweet apples, light green apples and sweet caramel. Quite heavy sweetness, minimal sour. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Slight tartness with the sweetness to finish. Quite nice and certainly above average as sweet ciders go.

Sample from Koelschtrinker, many thanks Roman! Clear pale yellow gold colour, no head and aroma of tart apple with a slight sulphury note. Taste is sweetish, mellow apple, alittle apple flesh, with some light tartness plus toffee & caramel hints. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, medium-dry mellow finish. Quite drinkable.

Würziger, dumpf apfeliger Beginn mit angenehmer Süße. Im Mittelteil frischer, steigend apfelig, allerdings auch Trauben. Leicht steigende Karbonisierung. 10/9/11/10/6/11

Many thanks to Hans Peter for sharing! Fruity dry nose. The cider starts highly carbonated, easy to drink but very one-dimensional. Somehow sweetish, I miss complexity. Easy to drink with juicy parts, sad.

75cl bottle shared with Erzengel. A clear pale yellow colour. Aroma of mild sourish and sweet apples. Taste of moderate sweet and dry apples, sulfur, high carbonation.

06/06 Thanks Marko for sharing another cider! This 0.75 l bottle opened with big pop, poured pale yellow body with big head that soon disappeared. Fine apple aroma, fruity and fresh. Flavor was initially disappointing, watery, offering only some simple apple notes, green sourish apples again. Thin bodied with finish brought only by the sparkling brew, so was somewhat astringent and sharp, with base sweetness which was too shy to emerge just a bit more. Interesting and not bad, but this one also misses body.

Bottle at a Spar store in Graz, another surprise find. If you didn’t know where and how to look, you’d miss it easily, as the Austrians like to mix these a bit with regular wines from time to time. Well carbonated (yeah, a Schaumwein) pale yellow body. Sweet apple-banana nose, slighty acidic, Dry, slightly empty acidic taste, peppermint, apples. Nicely balanced in a way. Austria doesn’t get enough recognition as a cider country. And it deserves it.
