Description
Innovative, promising and high-quality microbrewery. This are the significant words that describe our young team of Green Gold Brewing from Savinja Valley in the heart of Slovenia. And if you ask us about our distinctive characteristic, we would definitely say that there is something about the place where we live, breath and work. Why so? Our hometown is one of the most significant Slovenian (and also European) hop regions – therefore we had no choice but to brew the best beer.

Just like every successful story, ours started in the garage of today’s Green Gold Brewing. From the very beginning, owner Luka Rojnik strives for beer not only to be a drink but a surplus with amazing superpowers. In our beers, the Slovenian tradition and years of brewing experiences are intertwined by Luka’s accumulation of different acknowl- edges throughout the world.

In the story of Green Gold Brewing, Slovene hop varieties Aurora, Styrian Dragon, Celeia, Bobek, Styrian Wolf and others are playing the main roles. They are so important to us that you will find them in every can, beer tap or barrel that you choose, whether it’s a Pale Ale, IPA, Hoppy Lager or something else.

The beer behind the picture. A good product, in my point of view during the beautiful game Italy-Switzerland that the Italians were the boss. This one is a bit grassy, dry malt, dry hop, bitter and citrus, interesting note of pineapple, 17.06.21.

0,5 l on tap. Pours clear golden with medium long lasting head. Aroma is rather bready, some herbal hop notes. Taste is light sweet and bitter. Finish is short some pleasant bitterness, but that's it. It's decent and nice drinker.

Fancy bottle at Prague Beer Fest 2026. A more recent, longer aged version apparently... and actually around 13%. Anyway. Black body, beige head, thick. Heaps of whiskey/bourbon notes in the aroma, bit peaty, but alcohol, marzipan and glue are there too, a bit rough. Dry, bitter, minerally, leathery, tart peaty taste with some raisins, low chocolate. Oooh, this is serious, complex, huge and far from my tastes in this style. Too rough, too all over the place. I fully believe the younger version might have been far more approachable.

Can at PBF 2026. Murky dark pink body, off-white head. Kettle sour raspberry aroma. Kettle sour raspberry taste. Not much strawberry really but it does show up in the background in the taste. Quite solid.

Can at PBF 2026. Very dark brown, blackish body, off-white head. Vanilla, cocoa and liiight cinnamon in the aroma. Cinnamon shows up in force in the taste, with light vanilla in the sweetish taste, ending dry and with light astringency. Still, it works!
