Description
Cotleigh Brewery began life in Devon in 1979, in the old stable block of Cotleigh Farmhouse at Washfield near Tiverton. Immediate success meant that in 1980 the brewery moved to the historic brewing town of Wiveliscombe in Somerset. Its original owner Ted Bishop was succeeded in the early 80's by John and Jenny Aries, who built upon the brewery's success. The brewery moved in 1985 to the current location in order to fulfil ever-increasing demand. Currently is Stephen Heptinstall the sole owner of the Brewery.

Cask, 4.2%. Cloudy orange colour. Stable creamy white head. The flavour starts a bit bland, and then a little aroma hop kicks in, grassy but not too interesting.

Cask-conditioned at The Raven, Bath 5/7/08. Pale amber in colour with a slight white head. Citrus hop and honey aroma. Flavour had plenty of caramel with some fruit and a long, hoppy finish. Well-balanced, enjoyable stuff.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 17 June 2008) Amber colour with lasting, frothy, off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of biscuity malt, orange peel and dusty, floral hops. Fruity taste with smooth hints of orange peel, apricots, biscuity malt and floral hops in the finish. Fairly dry, very nice balance. Wouldn’t suffer from a little more bite, but a nice beer.
