Cask handpull at Willow Walk, JDW, Victoria. Beautiful brown amber colour with lasting thin ivory head. Good deep, slightly sweet biscuit bitter. Some fruit. Very decent. Herby hop fruity malt bitter, what like used to be made in the UK. Willamette blackcurrant on finish. It’s a very decent bitter.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear light to medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, straw, toasted, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (Cask at Penderel’s Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 24 Nov 2010) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with toast, orange marmalade and apricots. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of toast and earthy hops in a dry, well balanced finish. Light body, fairly dry. Tasty and highly drinkable.

Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley. Golden amber with a scummy looking cream coloured head; attractive farmyard aroma; fruity malt flavour with some slightly sour apple; caramel and biscuit to finish. A pleasant enough bitter.

[Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading] Amber, moderate off-white head, slight fizz. Caramel, some fruit, a minty leafiness & a restrained earthy bitterness in the finish. Rather dull I’m afraid.

Cask-conditioned at the Monks Retreat, Reading 7/11/10. Deep amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Malty, overripe fruit aroma. Sweet, fruity flavour, with bready malts and a short, bitter finish. Not for me.

Cask @ Sir John Moore, JDW. Dark golden colour, white head. Aroma is light malted, bit biscuit. Flavour is soft malty, fruity. Very soft and smooth. Easy drinkable.

Cask at The Central Bar, JDW. Pours a clear, shining copper with a creamy, lingering head. Doughy malt nose with some faint hops. Flavor is fairly sweet and a touch syrupy with caramel notes, and some mild, orange citrus bitters. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Finishes nicely balanced with some sugary malts and dry, lightly earthy bitterness. Good stuff.

Spoons Fest! Clear amber beer, tiny white head. Softish dry palate. All malt with a splash of tea. Tiny bit of bitterness in the aftertaste. Grindingly average.
