Gusher. Big beige head. Deep dark brown body made hazy by a mass of particles. Spicy licorice toffee aroma with roasty coffee notes. Dry-sweet deep salty licorice taste with burnt minty mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry burnt roasty chocolatey aftertaste with soy sauce and cinnamon notes. Very nice, highly drinkable, yet complex. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, web order.)

Big brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate pudding, licorice, dark sugar, hints of blueberry. Taste is slightly sour-ish roasted, dark malts, grass, sour coffee, roasted grain, burnt caramel, cocoa, hints of ashtray. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Nice one.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Sandaker. Pours hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma of dark malts with dark dried fruits, notes of Belgian yeast and port wine, hints of roasted malt and chocolate. Medium sweet and a bit vinous with hints of sourness and a mild but balanced bitterness. Medium body with slightly lively carbonation. Balanced and enjoyable brew.

Rerate, on tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy orange colour, moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma and flavour like first sample. Original rating: 330 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 6.5%. Very cloudy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity and resinous hops, notes of mixed tropical fruits and citrus. Distinctly hoppy flavour, as expected from an IPA. Not very sweet, but does not feel watery. Fruity and piney notes. medium bitter finish. Well balanced and pleasant. Would buy again.

330 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 5.0%. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts. The flavour is malty without being sweet, again light roasted and toasted notes, decent and drinkable but not very exciting.

330 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 5.5%. Hazy straw colour, moderate white head. The aroma is fresh, spicy and lightly fruity. Light bodied and refreshing. Very dry, woody and spicy flavour, with a sharp bitterness in the finish. Smells better than it tastes, but not bad overall.

330 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 5.5%. Deep golden to pale brown colour, only slightly hazy. Large to moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma of Belgian ale yeast, over-ripe fruits, brown kandij sugar and some wood, a hint of ammonium. Fizzy mouthfeel, watery body. The flavour has some "typical Belgian" notes, but is not as sweet as many other Belgians - and is also more woody, with a fairly distinct bitterness in the finish. Not as harmonious as the best Belgians, but drinkable.

Sampled at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013. Good looking, clear amber body with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, toast and a hint of liquorice. Flavor is quite sweet caramel malt, toast, dry fruit, some coffee and moderate bitterness. Fine body and sweet in aftertaste. A nice brown ale.
