Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Bottle. Pours very dark, almost pitch black, with hardly any head. Leaves a few foamy bubbles around the edge. Aroma- creamy chocolate, roasty bitterness, milky coffee, oatiness. Really nice smelling. Taste is lots of coffee and chocolate, big roastiness, creamy, almost smoky, chocolate-covered fruit and nut, lots of espresso in the finish. Very impressive.

Bottle at The Ale House, Chelmsford. Billed as a ’Hybrid American Amber’, it pours a deep amber colour with a fairly large white head. Lovely hoppy aroma akin to American Pale Ale with caramel, malt and fruit. Very smooth, with a bittersweet finish. Slightly creamy texture, average/right carbonation, medium body. Much enjoyed.

330ml bottle from Glug, Newcastle. Wow. What an apt name for a beer - almost took my head off. Pours mahogany reddish brown, huge abrasive bitter flavours with a teasing sweetness. Concentrated toffee and orange peel appear mirage-like before the bitterness takes over once more, bombarding you alongside a heavy ABV.

Bottle 330ml (AbM)
Chestnut brown color, huge beige head, lace. Grassy, old pipe tobacco aroma, when warming up, some "fermentation gases". Light-bodied. Grassy hoppyness, some caramalt, tobacco/ashy-smokeyness. A bit restless combination. Smokey - yes, smoke bomb - no.
