Anarchy Brew Co.
Microbrewery in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear, England 🏴

Unit A1, Benfield Business Park Benfield Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 4NQ, England
Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

(cask@Catford Bridge Tavern) Black colour with a healthy medium white head, good lacing and medium in body. Aroma/taste is caramel malts, cinnamon, vanilla, rum and raisin. Has a good mouthfeel and starts medium sweet with a good bitter finish. Lovely.

33cl bottle thanks to Lewis. Pours golden with gentle bubbles and a decent head. The nose has honey, nuts and soggy cornflakes. The taste has more honey and nuts with some citrus. The palate is medium bodied and thick textured with a fairly clean finish. Overall, a decent attempt at making a bock taste balanced. --- Beer merged from original tick of Imperial Strength Anarchy Lager on 07 Jul 2016 at 17:05 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: Bottle. Appearance - amber with a thin head that disappears quickly. Nose - red fruit and light spicy hops. Taste - fruitcake and again light spice from hops. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - somewhere between a doppelbock and the imperial pils style it is reckoned to be. Interesting and complex.

Weak pale yellow appearance with a thin white head. Not weak in character, has a great body and a healthy blonde bitterness to it.
