Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Clear dark amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Light semi dry palate. Mild thin malt, mellow smoke - not at all acrid. Nice tangy fruits on the back end, both dried fruits and generic fruits. Finishes dry with a little bitterness kicking in.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Hazy amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and slightly soft. Light fine carbonation. Sweetish generic fruit hops and a touch of orange peel. Light crystallised fruits. Softish sweet finish. Really pretty sweet for an IPA - not much hop sting or bitterness. But it’s quite tasty.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours ruby-orange with a light, creamy white head. Nose has lots of ripe citrus, juicy tangerine, hints of caramel. Medium to heavy sweet flavor, bit of punchy alcohol, mango, orange, papaya. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, fairly resinous, some dried tropical fruits. A bit heavy-handed.

Keg at Lyric, Soho. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is smoke, ham, caramel, dark fruit and wood. The taste is earth, toast, smoke, high bitterness, wood, resin and some astringency with a damn bitter finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps lacking in a bit of body, bit pretty nice. I think this style suits being on keg. Decent.
