Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Draft at The Lady Grey, Newcastle on 26 July 2013. Poured a dark brown, pretty much oily black with a dense light brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee and brown sugars. Big roasted malt flavours with prunes and fruit cake. Ends with a mix of some sweet vanilla and bitter coffee.

Bright amber beer, tidy white head. Palate is light, slightly soft but then turns crisper. Creamy malt, very light and quite sweet. Minerals. Trace of sweetish hops - mild orange and tinned peach syrup. Finishes crispy. Not bad but I like my lagers a bit less flabby.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Clear dark amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Light semi dry palate. Mild thin malt, mellow smoke - not at all acrid. Nice tangy fruits on the back end, both dried fruits and generic fruits. Finishes dry with a little bitterness kicking in.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Hazy amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and slightly soft. Light fine carbonation. Sweetish generic fruit hops and a touch of orange peel. Light crystallised fruits. Softish sweet finish. Really pretty sweet for an IPA - not much hop sting or bitterness. But it’s quite tasty.
