Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy amber pour with quite big off white head, sweet malt aroma, not much hop going on for an IPA from the South Pacific hoped for more but left disappointed I did get a slight hint of pineapple.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Mahogany colour. Thin, coffee coloured head. Aroma is Pontefract cakes, ripe vine fruit. Roast coffee beans, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Just enough chew to the body. Long dry, but fruity finish. Lovely beer.

330ml bottle. Darkest mahagony colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Smoky aroma on relatively weak malty background. Taste is dry, smoky, some grassy hoppy overtones. Light body.

Keg at Lyric, Soho. It pours hazy orange-amber with a medium white head. The nose is soft fruit, cereal, dough and orange peel. The taste is crisp, dough, grain, cereal, biscuit, pepper and soft citrus with a dry, bitter finish. Light-medium body and average carbonation. Good balance and highly drinkable. Nice work!

Keg at Lyric, Soho. It pours hazy brown with a thick beige head. The nose is wood, dirt, spice, leather, caramel and raisin. The taste is earthy, wood, spice, leather, bitter grapefruit, orange rind, metallic twang and toast with a dry, pretty bitter finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit rough around the edges, bit decent nonetheless.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. This is a lovely looking beer. Hazy, reddy amber with a thin, but lasting head. Aroma of ripe mandarin, some mango too. Bittersweet taste not unlike an old fashioned English marmalade. Enjoyed this a lot.

Cask at The Cluny, Newcastle on 27 July 2013. Poured a clear golden with a thin white head, some lacing. Ripe fruit aroma with hints grass and some sweet toffee notes. Initial burst of dry floral hops replaced by some sweet malty notes. Palate kind of falls away to nothingness.
