Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Bottle. It pours a next to black body, with a dark beige head of moderate size. The aroma has lots of licorice, as well as chocolate, coffee and a roasted touch. It’s a bit thin on the palate, dry, with a very soft carbonation. Roasted, coffeeish flavor with chocolate and licorice. Salty too. Salty licorice in the finish. A rather boring one, with some nice elements. 131231

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity and bitter hoppy aroma, hints of grapefruit, more or less unspecific fruitiness overall. Taste is fruity and bitter hoppy, hints of grapefruit, a touch of something close to passion fruit and tangerine. Crisp, refreshing - solid APA.

Bottle at The Ale House, Chelmsford. Pours a hazy, pale orange colour. Aroma of fruit, and fresh hops. Very smooth and very very drinkable notwithstanding its 10% ABV. Good body, slightly sticky texture, minimal carbonation. Rather heavy in its sweetness, but that did not detract from its quality or my enjoyment of what I thought was a very good beer.
