Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Newcastle looks like it may have been a beautiful old city in times gone by, a visit to the Laing Gallery in the city is the place to go to see paintings of how It used to be with the Old Tyne Bridge as it was. Perhaps not as many pale ales available then than now, this one is hoppy in the main with some floral notes attached, especially in aroma.

Citrus fruity with nites of lemon and grapefruit overlaying a sweet pale malty base, grassy light floral hoppy bitter into the finish.

440ml can kindly shared by Finn. A big white head over a hazy pale golden body, spotty lacing. Moderate smell of light tropical fruit, ripe citric moments to it. Impacts of lemon and lime to the taste profile. Soft fruity tail. Medium bodied. Quite alright. (Tromsø, 24.03.2025).

440ml can kindly shared by Finn. A stable white head over a cloudy golden body, lacing rings down the glass. Hop fruity aromas, scents of peaches. Quite similar taste of peaches added by herbal hops and soft malts. Discreet fruity bitterness to a semi-dry finish. Satisfying. (Tromsø, 24.03.2025).

Can. Quite clear, brown body with a dense, tan head. Aroma has mild roasted brown malt, toast and chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet, gentle roasted malt, some creamy caramel, distinct chocolate, balanced bitterness and hint of fruit. Fine balanced body and nice aftertaste. A solid, rather classic brown ale, tasty.

Bottle. Pitch black body with a perfect, dense, beige head. Relatively mild aroma of roasted dark malt. Flavor is medium sweet, dark, quite roasted malt, coffee, nice bitterness and some chocolate. Fine balanced body and long lasting pleasant aftertaste. Nothing revolutionary going on here, but a tasty, well made, solid stout. Nice.

Cask at the Fat Cat, Sheffield on 20th February 2025. Hazy gold with shallow white film and full lacing. Tropical fruits aroma. Explosively fruity in-mouth with burst of tangy citrus and tropical fruits. A vibrant fruity finish. Medium bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.

Can from Drankenspeciaalzaak Jelle, Leeuwarden. Aroma is sweetish malt, resinous hops, pine resin, ripe fruits including citrus, spruce, notes of caramel. Flavour is rather sweet with an above medium bitterness. Body is above medium. Okay IIPA, fairly resinous, but lacks some oomph and depth.
