Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

A murky and light yellow beer, a head is almost medium and blond. Aroma has strong citrus, tight lime, lemon. Taste has lime, lemon, some herbal spicyness, also some bitterness, more interesting than aroma and not only citrus. Medium bodied. Strong citrus, nice.

Can from the greengrocer on Amble high street. Pours murky golden with a thick white head. Aromas of peach, citrus, something grassy. Taste is sweet, peachy again, faint malt. Get the lactose on the finish.

Can from Meny, Valby and shared at home (10/10/2020) - golden yellow with a white head. Fruity notes of passion fruit, pineapple, citrus lemon across the palate, sweetish malts, light to medium body and carbonation, just a touch of coconut into the hoppy finish. Decent.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 15th September 2020. Cloudy copper with shallow foam and spot lacing. Very fruity aroma with plum and tangerine on caramel malt. Berry fruits and citrus peel in-mouth, and a fruity, slightly spicy finish. Velvet smooth texture and masses of body.

Can picked up at Meny Valby and shared at home (05/09/2020) - slightly hazy orange with a white head. Fruity sabro notes delivered here, notes of passion fruit and of course pineapple and just a whisper of coconut on the nose, light sweet malts, medium to light body, light bitter hoppy finish. Pretty decent. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hopped Up And Ready To Go on 26 Mar 2025 at 12:31 - Score: 7.
