I poured this right down the middle of the glass and it produced an average size head that was creamy and of average duration for the style. The body was a brilliantly clear deep golden beer. The aroma was complex. Toasted malts, caramel and alcohol. Sweet, almost cloying if it weren’t for the alcoholic bite. Bock’s answer to Barleywine!

Orange hazy color, big beautiful white head. Rubber glove aroma. Smooth palate, fruity. Drier than German hefeweizens normally. Low alcohol is not noticiable, not at all: refreshing summer beer!

Dark brown beer (why Schwarze???) with a bitter chocolate aroma, failry malty. Very smooth initially with a lightly smokey malt, but the finish is harsh and dry. Medium bodied.

(5 liter minikeg, bought in Norway - ABV here is 4.5%). Typical pils golden colour, large head. Hoppy but not very strong aroma. Flavour is surprisingly malty, slightly sweeter and less crisp than the somewhat stronger EKU Pilsner which I prefer (also in a minikeg). Still, this is a rather tasty pilsener, miles ahead of the many tasteless "neutral" pilseners you get these days.

Dough, chocolate and banana aroma - if it was the smell of the dough for a cake i would be looking forward to it... Murky brown, fluffy white-brown head with nice lacing. Interresting flavor profile: Ripe bananas, coffee with sugar, some chokolate, raspberries, spices. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. A dark hefeweizen with character.

Yeast an spice (koriander,pepper) aroma Orange golden, fluffy head. Spices a a hint lemon in the taste. Medium body, peppery aftertaste, slightly watery exit.

This is the most delicate, subtle and subdued eisbock I've ever had - nothing like the cloying, palate-assaulting beasts that so often go by the name - dark ruby with moderate, fizzy head that disappears almost completely - subdued, but complex aroma of candy sugar, plums, cloves - very mild sweetness in the flavor, with wonderfully subtle flavors of plums and other dark fruits - tingling carbonation - dates, figs, and a hint of black cherry - certain qualities remind me more of an abbey dubbel - dangerously well-masked alcohol - I wish more beers of this style were like this.

This is a favorite of mine - perfect for nursing over a quiet winters night like a nice snifter of cognac. I am proud to have turned several people on to this beer and i always have some around to nurse through the winter. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a crystal clear deep mahogany color with very little head that disappears very quickly. The brew has the texture of of brandy without the burn. The aroma is sweet and nutty. There is a burst of sweetness, plum and molasses in the flavor. Some faint bitterness lingers. There is some alcohol burn. Definitely a slow sipping beer more reminiscent of wine or brandy. A classic.

Wow. There is a clear separation between great doppelbocks and merely decent doppelbocks, and this falls into the former category. Pours clear deep red-brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma was a very promising heavy raisin/prune combination, classic doppelbock form. Flavor is a dead-ringer for Celebrator, with a rich raisin/prune malt complement leading to several layers of breads and caramel. Alcohol is nicely subdued. A stellar doppelbock concentrate.
