50 cL bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and light metallic yeasty. Sweet malty and light caramelish. Bitter and acidic flavoured finish. Bitter and dry finish.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Haz amber, rocky head. Spicy and resiny hops strike first. Dryish with bready malt and evident slivovic-like alcohol. Notes of honey dew before a finish with plenty of resiny bitterness. Primitive and sketchy perhaps, but not without it’s pleasing moments either.

Bottled (Citymarket Sello, BB 04/2010). Pale amber color, small white head, lots of bubbles. Toffee-nutty aroma. Very watery palate, at first like drinking mineral water. Then some candy-toffeish notes (bottle says "supplemented with torrefied wheat, honey, no. 3 invert block sugar and high-maltrose syrup") and late nutty bitterness with tea flavors. Totally useless flavor. Aftertaste has some hops - saves from the disaster, otherwise this is a kind of lemonade drink.

Bottled (Citymarket Sello, BB 04/2010). Deep clear golden color, small white head. Light flowery hoppy, a bit honeyish aroma. SImilar flavor: sweetish, honeyish with light citrus-flowery hops. More bitterness in the finish. Quite light and uninteresting.

Cask (handpump) @ JDW Wetherspoon in Manchester, England.Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, cane sugar, light light notes of whisky maybe it is just a hint because of the name of the beer. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090124]

Cask at Barony Bar, Edinburgh, 20-03-09 on the Craig Crawl Pours light amber with a white head, this a little thin, a slight bitterness and whilst there is an ok beer in there, there is very little that pushes this beyond the boundaries of decent but ordinary pint. A5 A4 F6 P3 OV10

Cask handpull at Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Copper, disappearing head. I wasn’t looking forward to this as I don’t generally like beer/whisky blends. This one is ok though, some decent caramel. Hint of whiskey in there somewhere, but quite spicy as well, especially on the finish. Fine, still not my first choice, but fine.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Amber with a dense cream head; grassy aroma; smooth with some fruity malts, initially sour but then becoming sweeter; dry finish. An underwhelming beer - no trace of the whiskey.
