Description
The first real malting statute was confirmed by the municipal council of Iglau, as the town of Jihlava was called till 1948, in 1579. In 1859, all 123 owners of brewing rights in the town and surrounding villages joined in a new brewery, the present Jihlava Brewery. The brewery in Jihlava was opened in 1861, but the brewery considers the year 1860 as the year of its incorporation. From its incorporation the brewery had mainly German owners. After WWII it was nationalised and then privatised in 1995. In 2008 the almost bankrupt brewery was bought by the Pivovary Lobkowicz group. Under the new owners the brewery returned to the production of beer according to old original recipes.

From tap @ Kaštieľ Záturčie in Martin. Big, white, long lasting head. Colour is deep gold, clear. Aroma is bit bready, floral, nice hoppy spicy. Taste is light malty base, bready, bit caramel, decent bitterness, soft carbonation, not bad.

# 560; 12/2016. Sladový, nakyslý ležák s horší pitelností a s drsnější, méně příjemnou hořkostí.

0,5 bottle.
***
Golden classic Czech look white foam crown. It smells like nothing extra, a large-scale lager without corn, but at least not bad. As the content of 11balling shows, it is not very full-bodied, but there is a good bit of hop hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium malt feeling, good carbonation. Drinking in Pilsen, at a good price.

An ordninary and unusual dull Czech pilsner. Probably more a pale lager. Lacks also the freshness off a pilsner. Mild bitterness is the big problem with this one. Malty and herbal flavor.
