Description
The first real malting statute was confirmed by the municipal council of Iglau, as the town of Jihlava was called till 1948, in 1579. In 1859, all 123 owners of brewing rights in the town and surrounding villages joined in a new brewery, the present Jihlava Brewery. The brewery in Jihlava was opened in 1861, but the brewery considers the year 1860 as the year of its incorporation. From its incorporation the brewery had mainly German owners. After WWII it was nationalised and then privatised in 1995. In 2008 the almost bankrupt brewery was bought by the Pivovary Lobkowicz group. Under the new owners the brewery returned to the production of beer according to old original recipes.

Bottle. Golden amber color. Powerful malty aromat, wine, fermented fruits, alcohol. Taste: very malty, red currant jam, esters, slightly wine, mild hop bitterness.

(Keg at Jáma, 20160614) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste had caramel and bitterness. A bit weak polotmavý.

Praha 2016 @ kifejezetten emléxem a Jámába volt. Tömör étbevonó vízbe áztatva ami mélyen beívodott tudatomba. Igazi (sz)opatás. Hamiskás gejl.

Draught @ Restaurant Jama, Prague. Pours dark golden with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, wood, light nuts, hay. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, malty, caramel, nuts, hay. Medium body, average carboantion, light bitter finish. 270316

Bottle 0.5l. Clear, deep gold colored. AROMA- malt, apples, touch of caramel. FLAVOR- lightly sweet, moderately bitter, malty and grainy, notes of caramel and alcohol. Medium to full bodied.

Tap @ Jama, Prague. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, malt, fruits and hops. Sweet and semi bitter finish.

Barwa złota wpadająca w bursztyn. Piana średnia, szybko opada, średni lacing. Słaby aromat, miodowy. W smaku dość puste, lekko słodowe. dodatkowo wyczuwalna niewielka metaliczmość. 2.5 Edit 14.08.2024: wypite z butelki także walory wizualne nie było dane ponownie ocenić. Metaliczności brak, przyjemnie słodowe. W aromacie słodowe i chyba nawet chmiel majaczy. Jest lepiej niż było.

L’amaro è deciso. L’intensità gustativa è elevata e la persistenza gustativa è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono luppolate e di facile beva. Il finale è amarognolo e lungo. Il retrogusto è intenso. L’aroma in bocca ha i sentori di resina, frutta secca, whisky, etilico e caldo.
