Tasting at Matt's
Cloudy blond color. Strong vegetable and fruit aroma, green mango, papaya, fresh pumpkin. Strong acidity, highly carbonated, fruity, unripe apricot, astringent final.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma reveals wine barrels upfront, followed by oak, tannins, and stone fruits. Flavour is very vinous, with brett, oak, tannins, and medium acidity. Nice vinous and oak character. Decent, but lacking elegance.

Hazy peachy note .On the nose, somewhat vinous...this has a cleaner taste. Nice vinous note, but that lends it a lot of complexity. Good woody dryness. Complex and tasty.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out highly acidic mango, with red wine barrels, and light brett. Flavour is fairly acidic, with tart mangoes, red wine barrels, and oak. Very acidic. It's okay, but really harsh.

Tan and hazy. There isn't much head. On the nose, there's mango but it clashes a bit with the yeast, Tart. Nice lactic. But the mango is a bit strange...does not cut the sharpness, and it doesn't necessarily do anything for me.

Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours rather hazy gold with a transient white head. Aroma is moderately sour and red berry. With wood. Med body at least. Flavor is Brett, sort of cabernet, slightly musty wood. It is sour, approaching, but not getting too close, to vinegar. Maybe that's an overstatement. The grape part actually may be moderating the sourness. More sour than many, but far from mouth wrenching. Keeps the attention!

Tap at Harry's Hofbrau in Redwood City. Very slightly hazed orange with full white head that retains well and leaves massive patterning down the glass. Very juicy on both aroma and flavor.

Dark brown, medium head. Looks nice. Big nutty malts, even a bit of alcohol...definitely a big brown. Soft and sweet, both toasty and nutty, and even then some nice brown sugar sweetness. The general size allows it to sort of throw all the classic brown ale elements at the wall without any real subtlety. So maybe not the most elegant brew, but pretty enjoyable if you're in the mood for something a little over the top.
