Keg at London Beer Lab, 04/08/17. Golden copper with a decent off white cap. Nose is a little basic ... Orange, biscuit, grains. Taste comprises sharp melon, bitter orange, toasted grains, grassy, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying dashed with earthy hop bitterness. Ok but at the lower end for thexample style ... a little harsh and unrefined in places.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s gaff. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and dry, decent fine carbonation. Tangy fluffy dark malts. Mild bitterness. Light pine. Some odd things here as well. It’s a bit tiresome.

Bottle shared in Hackney - picked up at the London Beer Lab. Pours clear dark brown with a creamy, khaki head. The nose has some plastic, burnt malts. Light sweet flavour, very astringent, some earth, lots of unpeasant plastic. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Quite unpleasant in the finish, lots more plastic, wood, astringency. This is poor.

Bottle split at Hackney Levels, thanks to LKS, 31/05/17. Light black with a decent off white head. Nose is medicinal, spice, burnt rubber, plastic, not great ! Taste comprises more plastic notes, spice, brown bread, spice, raisens. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, drying close with light hop notes. Not good ... astringent bitterness overides all ... yuck ... possibly the worst CDA Ive had !

Bottle at LKS. It pours deep brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is earthy, sweet, toasty, vanilla latte, rocky road and charred wood. The taste is dry, bitter, light tartness, earthy, leather, dirt, tar, ash, brown bread, ash and spice with a dry, soda water finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit wishy washy and very earthy. Not great...

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from the London Beer Lab. Pours deep, clear copper-gold with a creamy topping. The nose holds rich piney hops, semi-ripe citrus fruits, orange rind, mango. Light sweet flavour with assertive grassy and piney bitterness, some rindy notes, toasted grains, earth, orange peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more strong grassy bitterness, a slight note of plastic, more pine, rindy citrus. A little rough in some areas, but overall not bad.
