Can. Cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, kumquat, crackers. Light bodied. Loads of grapefruit over light crackery malt before a slightly piney bitter finish. Refreshing, pretty good.

Another old school Tasmanian WCIPA. Aromas of pine, pineapple and straw. The hops linger nicely at the back of the mouth. Solid. Picked up at Crown Cellars bottle shop in Launceston (they have an incredible range of Tassie beers).

Can. Amber with an inch of white head that lasts a while. Fairly shy aroma with citrus, breadcrust and pine. Bolder in taste with a big but not brash piney hit at the dryish bitter finish. Nice balance and finish. Wouldn't have entered this as a red IPA but for the label.

Can. Clear amber with a very stable 1/2 inch fluffy white head. Aroma of breadcrust, grapefruit, grass, mango skin, some pine. Sweet at first but that drops back to let the fruity and then rather resinous hops through towards an end that's drier than expected where the moderate bitter comes through nicely. Just my sort of beer.

Can. Dark brown with a fat, dense coat of beige head. Aroma of bread, dark brown sugar, smoke, spices. Just medium bodied, smooth texture, moderate to low carbonation. Perhaps the smoke is slightly more prominent on the palate but it sits well with bready and singed sugary malt before a fairly bitter finish. Quite what's smokey bite and what's roast or hop is hard to tell - which is good. Solid drop.

Can. Clear amber with a beige head that fades to a fat coat. 3+ Aroma is toasty with stone fruit and citrus. Medium bodied. A pleasant creaminess with toast and breadcrust - the malt side of things was a bit Fuller's VA. Firm fruity and peppery bitterness comes through fairly quickly but no so fast as to obscure the malt side of things. Bitterness just stops short of a roar. Its strength is not quite obvious but the beer maybe deserves slightly classier name.

(Can) Pours cloudy amber with small white head. Pleasant aroma of mangoes, oranges with a hint of candy. Medium body with plenty of soft carbonation. Taste has plenty of fruit juice to it, with some rather odd candy notes, then some spice and alcohol burn appears, with some modest bitterness in the end. It’s good but there’s something not quite right - the candy and the spicy notes don’t sit quite right in the mix.
