Bottle at home shared with Laura. Opaque dark brown to black color, no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, roasty a bit, liquorice, rum I guess, though I wouldn't have guessed it probably. A bit flat, but solid body. Alright.

Flaska från Hops’N More.

Bottle from Stacks. Hazy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of espresso, tobacco, chocolate sauce, black olive, salmiak, peated whisky, charred wood. Taste has sweetish raisin & brambleberry in a dark-chocolatey malt body; bitter 'caffè crema' along with umami salmiak & smoke in the middle. Peppery hops in the finish, pronounced coffee roast & fondant and warming peated whisky-like alcohol, establishing the smoky effect until the very end withouth overdoing it. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Another powerful Brambrass Stout.

Bottle at home. Clear darker golden color, medium to full sized white to off-white head that diminishes relatively quickly. Aroma and flavor are malts, typical tripel yeastiness, slightly herbal bitter with a sweetish touch as well. Straightforward but alright tripel.

Can at home. Ugly murky yellow color, full sized bubbly white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, citrusy malty, tangerine, light mandarin, light tart, some notes of spruce but also slightly metallic. Hmm okay but not great imo.

I have a 33 bottle that I believe I acquired at a beer shop in Bruges a couple of years ago. I like imperial stouts considerably and also like Buffalo Trace bourbon. Is there anything that can go wrong here? Hopefully not. My New Belgium globe glass pulls duty this cool December evening. The body is totally dark brown, almost black, and there is no head, none. The scent is dark chocolate with a hint of coffee and some boozy effect. A taste now. Bakers chocolate, berries, dark plums, grain, barrel, alcohol, pecans, malt and a bit of syrup. There's also a small hoppy bitterness, an interesting surprise. The sensation is rather dense and I like that in a stout. Slightly sweet, not overwhelming like many imperial stouts these days and I like this also. The sum is greater than the parts.

Bottle from Stacks. Hazy dark amber, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of rum-soaked raisin, date, Maraschino cherry, marzipan, liqueur, wet wood, clove, chewing gum. Taste has very sweet raisin, date & pear in a syrupy, brioche-like, caramelly malt body, some phenolic clove. Mild herbal hops in the finish, which is dominated by dried fruits, a touch of wood and quite boozy liqueur- or brandy-like alcohol; tequila might be there but not recognisably so for me. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Another enjoyable "BB BA", but with a slightly cruder profile.
