26/10/2024. Bottle bought at The Hakata, enjoyed from the bottle in Fukuoka canal city after some cracking Sri Lankan food. Aroma is malty, biscuit, bready, rye, stone fruits, caramel. Has a nice biscuity slightly syrupy sweetness with light to moderate developing bitterness. Medium body, oily, average carbonation. I liked this.

liquid autumn color. A bit of caramel maltiness backed by firm bitterness. Lacking a bit of body but not much. Not mind blowing but fairly well balanced. Decent. As it warmed up it was even better.

Aroma of maple syrup! Taste is sweet. But not as bad as expected.

Tap at Garage 39's 4th Anniversary. I tried the Brewmaster healing time coffee Porter 5% A deep black with reddish highlights and a freaky beige head. The taste was big licorice, no coffee and almost infected like. Weird. This thing is ducked and tastes like a beer cocktail mixed with a low-rent boozy oaky tannic spirit. Fail, man for a 4th Anniversary Garage 39 busted out the boring from good breweries and lots of junk from budget breweries, biggest waste of a great space I've ever seen.

Bottle from Foodshow. A little old at this point I guess. Light honeydew melon and sweety fruit nose with some sugar and maybe sudachi? Body is very soda-like with a slight syrupiness. Cloying and sweet, but the fruit is there. Alcopop but like some of the johana’s not entirely awful. To be clear though, not a beer, fruit beer, but more of a soda fruit beer.

On tap at Pogo Fukushima. A cloudy orange with a thin filmy white head. A yeasty tangy fruit aroma. Very light spritzy wine cooler like carbonation. The taste is earthy strawberry with stewed cabbage. This is obviously off, the base is sweet sugary strawberry and light malts but for whatever reason it fell apart. Not terrible but not good.

From tap at Beerfes Tokyo. Red, slightly hazy, not much foam. Aroma has strawberry jam, milk, some bitter note is also there but aroma is more on the fruity side. Doesn’t feel that sweet. Taste is sour, wet cardboard, some plastic. There is some strawberry also and when the initial plastic fades away, then that strawberry feels even a bit nice. Doesn’t feel completed but it feels as this could have some potential.

From tap at Beerfes Tokyo. Pours hazy pale, thin layer of foam. Aroma is somewhat fresh but not in the usual way. Green fruits, a berry with some resins. Tastes sweet. At first it’s just sweet, then hops disappear and what’s left is skunky sweetness. Some fruits add on later which makes it more tolerable. Well, quite exciting though, not really sure if I’d want to have it again.

On tap at Beer Keyaki Spring 2014. A big pour at the end of the night, pitch black with a thick tan head. Nice body. A toasty malt aroma, decent.
