Houten Paard 1, Ieper, 8900, Belgium
Description

Bottle (shared by fatphil, thanks). Pours red-brownish with beige head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, spices, malt, slight alcohol. Flavor is sweet, dark fruits, metallic notes, spices. Overall: OK-ish. Bottle, BB 07.07.17. Aroma has some bretty notes, reminding mighty Orval. Flavor slight sourness and brett, but is still sweet and fruity. Body is thinned a bit. Overall: interesting, +1 to flavor and +3 to overall.

Bottle thanks to Big Dave. It pours hazy orange - amber with a thick, foamy white head. The nose is fresh, quite herbal, earthy, dried grass and straw. The taste is crisp, bitter, spicy, herbal, orange peel, lemongrass, grainy, cracker and some florals with a dry finish. Medium body and high carbonation. Too herbal for the likes of me. Ok at best.
