Description

Relatively new beer from this Sint-Bernardus-allied brewing company (the name is more than a hint), with sticky, light beige head and misty bronze colour. Aroma of caramel, raisins, milk chocolate, toasted bread, red apple; sweet taste but nothing too cloying, some brown sugar there as well as overripe fruits, very low carbo (probably not indended) and therefore thinner body than it probably is supposed to have but lending it a kind of ’creamy’ feel; caramelly maltiness dominates, bit of ’worty’ sweetness, some peachy esters, honey; the rather pleasant sweetness persists but is being balanced by a subtle roasted and hoppy bitterness in the end. Not bad, but I feel this needs more work and more time, for now it comes across as an unfinished project.

Bottle from real ale store. Newark. Hazy deep straw colour, with a thin head. Fruity sweet and yeast aroma. Taste has a touch of citrus. Good beer.

Hazy brown color. Clovey estry nose with some milk chocolate notes, but overall pretty damn boring.

33cl bottle: BBD 1 Apr 16. Drank in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury on 11 Mar 14. Nice blend of flavours to this hazy blonde brew, the head a white affair. Yeasty, herbal nose with a semi-sweet fruity lead in the taste: the sweetness calms down and the sip finishes with a slightly bitter citrus feel. I liked it.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 26.01.15. Nutty brow. Beige head. Nuts and dried berries in fruity aroma. Similar taste, balanced with bitterness. A slight hint of ginger, cardamom and clove. Quite dry and a bit fizzy.
