Description

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Hazy deep amber with a beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, lots of spices, a bit of bread, a chocolate hint and some dark fruits. Sweet flavor, a bit alcoholic, with bread, caramel, pumpkin pie spices, some fruitiness and a drier spicy finish. Medium-bodied.

330ml bottle from Chez Marie, Ieper. Pours hazy amber with large off-white head. Pleasant sweet, light vanilla aroma. Taste presents a nice, sweet blonde taste with some spice, yeast and floral moments. Bit over-carbonated but still quite nice.

Taste: little bitter, quite some banana, citrus, very spicy, cloves, cinnamon. Aftertaste: mocha, banana, reminds me in a way a lot of US pumpkin ales, bit of chocolate.

Huge, just off-white head, rapidly slinking over clear golden, very lively carbonated beer. Spicy whitebread nose, bit toasted, herbal, garden herbs. Peppery, spicy, but with a markedly sweet finish, near sugary. Still, the herbal/spicy notes remain in the flavour. Difficult to say what (not being a donkey I rarely graze thistle). Warming up, I get coriander however (and not even a mule would tolerate that). Very little for aftertaste. Light body, spritzy, bit (grist)slick, faintly film-like. Yeah. Not bad.
