19/XI/19 - sample @ HoReCa-Expo Gent, BB: n/a - (2019-1882) Thanks to the brewers and the Ghent Beer Posse for sharing today’s beers!
Clear pale gold beer, big creamy white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, lots of grains, hay, cow fodder, somewhat of a sweet impression, little fruity almost, slightly metallic. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: soft bitterness up front, very malty, not sweet though, grains, metallic touch. Aftertaste: more malts, metallic touch, bit of citrus, decent lager.

Sampled at horecabeurs. Pours rather unclear blonde, dense, creamy white head. Smell is bit malty, wheat, fairly creamy. Bit banana, mild cloves. Taste is full, banana, fairly thin for a weizen Sharpness ( mild sourness, by the weat , rather than infection ). Decent phenolic character. Less sweet than other weize's i've had. OK .

Bottle from Horeca Expo 2019. pours clear blonde, small white head. Smell is bit malty, not very fresh or crisp though. Taste is fresh. Showing some malts. Than turns quickly to something far less pleasant. This mentions it's brewed at reinheitsgebot, but it tastes arteficial anyway, like a cheap lager beer, rather than the fine pilsners Germany produces. Starts with a slight hopbitter, than turns sweet, malty ( syrup rather than actual crispy malts ) , pretty weak and boring beyond that. Not great, not even good. Replacable by any supermarket lager

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from Marijn. Hazy orange yellow with a white head. Familiar banana and cloves aroma with a sweet taste. As most German weizens not really spectacular but just plain solid.
