Airport beer at LAX. Decent enough, grassy and pine hops, wheats grainiess. Good lunchtime airport beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of XPA on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Can. Hazy gold, off-white head. Chocolate aroma. Taste is cocoa, grains, chocolate, vanilla notes. Very strange.

Can. No visible date. Hazy gold with a white head that's soon less than a coat. Strange weedy and earthy aroma with some chocolate. Taste is more comprehensible with chocolate and vanilla before a touch of herbal bitterness. I don't really know what they were trying to do here or whether they succeeded, but I didn't want to finish it.

On tap at Yard House Marina del Ray. Golden with a small white head. Light with bread, grass, some grain and hints of fruit. Nothing special.

Crowley shared by Kobe Brewer. Santa Monica Breakfast Beer 4.9% 18 IBU An opaque honey amber with a light beige head with a big coffee aroma. The beer has a nice medium body and a sweet coffee taste with an almost cinnamon flavor in the aftertaste. Tasty and interesting.

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours copper tinged gold with a slight white head. Aroma of not very dark chocolate. Med body. Flavor is not very dark chocolate with a touch of something like cinnamon. Not very dry; not very bitter. Mildly spicy in a not capsaicin way. Nicely done.

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a small white head. Aroma of resin and citrus. Med body or so. Flavor is resin/pine and some citrus. It's not very dry; it's moderately bitter. Not exciting. Maybe it's really old, old school. Flavor is fairly strong tho. Wouldn't be a bad choice, if nothing modern were available.

Good to be #10. Usually. Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours more water than gold with a creamy white head. Odd herbal aroma. Med minus body. Odd flavor of dilute Concord grape. Somewhat strange otherwise - like the minor veg taste of Summit took over everything - xpt that grape note. Pale malt discernible. Leaves my mouth seeming gummy. For me it's like something was tried, but nearly nothing was achieved. Meh.
