Bottle, government store. Hazy and somewhat dull. Aroma is a bit phenolic, gluey. Sweet, again a bit phenolic, plasticy, especially in the finish. A bit of biscuity malt character, and a touch of floral hop. But kind of the usual poor Belgian-yeast experiment.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Golden color, clean, with compact head. Mellow Blonde Ale, rather sweet, with light Belgian yeast flavor, light fruity esters, but also some vegetables, more evident in the aroma. Correct bitterness.
Not bad, but fairly easy brewed.

On cask at Yaletown, pours a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is full of citrus, lemon zest and piney hops. Flavour is oddly citric, with lime, zest and vegetal notes. Too vegetally. Not too good, but not a disaster.

Draft @ St. Augs. Candyish, hazy, sweet, cloying...ok a little hop taste but I had this hop candy once and that is what this reminds me of.

Good head, okay copper-black body with no carbonation but not pitch black as a porter really should be. The aroma is heavy on the roasted barley with a hint of nuttiness and roasted open fire but otherwise not particularily fantastic. Flavour is strong chocolate-y notes with a hint of barley and wood and a sugary molasses finish. This beer is okay for its style and what it does, but you won’t remember it in a day let alone a week. A very middling stout.

Bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, a touch of roast and dry crackery malt. Flavour brings out lots of toasted malt, bready notes and light crackery notes. Very light on the palate, with a dry finish. Not the most enjoyable porter, but it's acceptable.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Black color with beige head. Strong espresso character, plenty of boutique coffee traits, with a dry mouthfeel, and some light acidity in the final that tickles the tongue for a pleasant feeling.
Very nice Stout.

Draft - Pale malts and light caramel. Clear copper with a decent white head. Caramel and a woody hop that has a slight bitterness. Not much depth here, very plain.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of piney hops out front, backed with biscuity malt in the back. Flavour brings out the cascade hops upfront, with dry mineraly hops, biscuity malt and that carbonated water / mineraly finish. Not the most thrilling IPA, but it's certainly balanced and drinkable. Decent.
