Dark chestnut colour. Toasty, slightly metallic aroma, with hints of chocolate. The body is fairly full. The flavour is chocolately and sweetish, with light roasty undertones, and a mild but earthy hop bitterness. It is perhaps a touch too fizzy and certainly isn’t the most complex dark ale I’ve had, but I still like it. It reminds me of an old school porter in some ways.
