33cl bottle from a trade with Douberd, thanks! Pours clear reddish brown colour with a huge good lasting off-white foam. Aroma of dark malt, spices and anis. Taste of spicy dark malt, some chocolate, herbs, anis, liqourice, high carbonation, interesting!

(Draught at Café Briljant, Haarlem, 15 Sep 2016) Dark ruby red colour with dense, beige head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of caramel, chocolate, liquorice and anise. Malty, roasted taste with dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, liquorice, anise, hints of sour berries and a balanced spicy bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Interesting and quite tasty with a balanced touch of liquorice and anise. Nice one.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Biscuity malty and fruity hoppy aroma, notes of gooseberry, hints of lemon. Taste is fruity hoppy, citrusy, notes of gooseberry and lemon, biscuity malty background; lively (over-)carbonation.

On tap at NHBF’16. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of a typical Golden Ale, some veggies, some citrus, crackers. Flavour of veggies, malts, yeast, light citrus. Light bodied, not great tbh.

0.33 l bottle from ’Dranken Melgers’, bottled in October 2015. Gushing! Clear, very dark brownish red to black with a massive, fluffy, quickly diminishing, light brown head. Slightly smoky, roasty-malty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee beans, cocoa, peat and licorice. Sweetish, slightly smoky, roasty-malty taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee beans, ash and hints of dark cherries, followed by a medium long, roasty-bitter, peaty finish. Medium to full body, effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Quite tasty, but the gushing and the annoyingly heavy carbonation impair the pleasure a lot. This is a beer with real potential but it is crafted so poorly.
