Description
We're Hackney Brewery — a small, independent craft brewery from London who has been dedicated to producing the most progressive accessible styles of hop forward independent craft beer to high standards.

We’re passionate about producing high-quality beers which are not only flavourful and aesthetically pleasing but also suitable for anyone who is interested in trying good quality craft beer. We've spent years refining and progressing our recipes to keep up with people’s ever-changing taste.

We were founded in 2011 by Peter Hills and Jon Swain in a couple of railway arches in Haggerston, Hackney.

Over the years we’ve invested in state-of-the-art lab equipment, new machinery and we strive to continuously improve our processes and work to get the best out of our ingredients.

Now with a focus on Keg and Can formats with modern and US hop forward styles, we provide a complete core range of crafted styles from Session-able table beers, hop forward pales and IPA’s, hazy juice bombs, a multi award winning peach and basil sour and crystal clear craft lager.

In 2021 we opened our new site on the Blackhorse Beer Mile, High Hill Taproom, home to Hackney Brewery.

Keg draught at the Hackney Tap. Goldish pink and a little hazy with an uneven white head. Mostly raspberry in the aroma with a little stone fruit as well. Not a lot besides the fruit. Taste is slightly dirty at first but rights itself; it is tart without being overly sour. A little guava in here? Perhaps. Watery body, medium carbonation. Not perfect but a nice experince nonetheless.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Elusive online. Pours mostly clear gold with a foamy, white head. Lightly sweet flavour with a fair amount of dry piney bitterness, grass, citrus peel, sun-baked pale malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Dry and bitter to finish, more grass, pine needles, some biscuits, hay, lemon rind. Good stuff overall.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, London, 23 Nov 2022) Amber colour with foamy, tan head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of toast, apricots and orange marmalade. Malty taste with toast, caramel, dried fruit, apricot marmalade, orange peel and a mild citric bitterness. Light body, with a certain sweetness. On the light side, but really tasty and well made bitter. Very nice.
