Description
40FT is an independent brewery in Dalston, Hackney, producing fresh, modern beer. Starting in the kitchen of a Hackney Houseshare where three homebrewers made beer for their house parties, the venture quickly moved into two 20ft shipping containers located in a disused Dalston car park in 2015, after convincing the head brewer of their local brewery to join them.

Over the last 6 years, 40FT brewery has grown organically by adding more shipping containers like lego and a building a talented team of 15 people. 40FT is now brewing to capacity on a 10HL brew kit, with an output of 7,000 pints a week

In 2025 production moved to Hackney Brewery's former Blackhorse Road premises.

3rd December 2024
Cask at Pig's Ear. Near clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, fairly smooth, decent fine carbonation. Light smooth pale malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Smooth pine into a very good candy fruit hop goodness. Not your modern Mosaic or HBC630, more of resinous Opal Fruits vibe that reminds me of a flash in the pan hop from several years ago, the name escapes me but Kernel did a single hop APA with it. Anyway! A fine hoppy IPA in very good nick.

17th July 2024
Cask at Chelmsfaasarhd Beer Fest. A fairly hazy gold orange beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thinnish malts, a thin creamy sweetness. Soft pine into reasonable citrus, fairly bright. A little pineapple. Light pine on the semi dry finish. A light and pleasingly fruity IPA. But, just seems to be lacking a bit of goodness, doesn't want to offend anybody.
