Pours a nice hazy amber from a can. Aroma is thick syrupy tropical fruit, similar flavor. Good beer.

12 ounce can. Hazy yellow gold color. Fluffy beige head. Buttery, fruity malt aroma has biscuity notes. Fruity notes include melon and stone fruit. First sip brings notes of pineapple, tangerine and apricot. Perhaps a touch of white grape and guava in middle. Some fresh grapefruit in brief finish. Pleasant and easy drinking.

5 oz. pour on tap at the Woburn location. It's an opaque black with no sparkle, finger-width light brown, creamy head with good retention and nice rings of soapy lacing. Aroma is not very strong and nondescript--eraser? Lacrosse ball? Somewhat whiskey boozy as it warms. Taste is dominant whiskey over less noticeable roasted malt and wood. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, frothy texture, soft-to-average carbonation, nice esophageal alcohol warmth and dry, crisp bitter finish. Overall, I like the non-BA version better. This loses the nuances of the base stout and it's mostly whiskey.

5 oz taster pour on tap at the Woburn location. It's an opaque black with no sparkle, finger-width light brown creamy head with good retention and nice rings of soapy lacing. Aroma is subtle roasted malt and woody/earthy. Taste is strong, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses and a hint of anise. Mouthfeel is medium-to-full bodied with thick, frothy texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste with lingering roasted bitterness. Overall, nice strong aroma and flavor with the flavor being more interesting.

Cool looking can. Pour is cloudy yellow orange not as clear and bubbly as most brut ipas. Nose is oak and fruit. Tastes of peach, white grape, oak, pineapple and bee pollen. Honey on the finish. Some fizz but not much little flattish.

Big pounder can for 3$. Smell is slight BO with forward volatile flowery hops. Big hazy pour with lots of foamy white head. Pretty good co2 on the tongue for a hoppy brew. A little rubbery on the uptake on the taste buds. Floats into and out of IPA territory continually. Strong up front hop bitterness. A strong weird turpentine fruit feeling in there someplace. Difficult in the middle but not cloying. A strange hoppy nastiness so common with on style IPA. This stuff is pretty strong and rather thick for an APA. LH IPA? Just asking. Yes, near the end that green grapefruit rind citrus thing starts kicking in. At least there is enough in this 16 oz can to give you a little buzz for the bitterness needed to endure. Overall not too bad for a strong APA, could use a few more manners if it wants you to call it an APA.

Pours a nice near black from a can, opaque but not muddy. Aroma is a little roasty, some resinous pine, but light. Similar flavor, not a bold statement. Good beer.

Can (8/6/20) pour from the Lazy Dog Beer Shoppe. Appearance is hazy golden orange (lots of fine pulpy particulates) with tons of sparkle, fizzy ephemeral cap of white head and no lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast and wheat, mild fruity esters. Taste is strong Belgian yeast, lemony citrus, banana, wheat, earth. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, more Belgian influence than IPA but that may be due to some hop degradation due to age. Carbonation stings a little. Still enjoyable.
