Svart med beige skum som varer. Lukter whiskey, sjokolade, vanilje, røstet malt. Kunne vært noe fyldigere men mye smak. Sjokolade, kaffe, vanilje og mørke stenfrukter.

330ml bottle, Lote 2247, bought at Casa Triunfo in Porto. Big fawn-coloured head leaving scattered lacing on the glass. Opaque dark brown body. Promising on the nose with smoothly roasted caramel malts. The taste profile follows suit with peanuts, and caramel, rather sweet. Roasted brown malty end with lingering sweetness. Decent sipper but too sweet for a higher score. (Cabin at MS Amalia Rodrigues).

0.33 l bottle huge thanks to Grumpy Bear, shared with PBF_pivica and him. Clear brown with an orange hue. Light spicy, malty, caramely and toffee nose. Sweet caramely flavour, some dried fruit. Sticky, not too sweet, quite drinkable. Light sweet finish. A bit thin.

330 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with light foamy head. Aromas of candi sugar, rum, copper and toasted malts. Flavors follow same. Dry finish. Net effect is more of a Belgian Quad. Quite good for what it is.

330 ml bottle. Pours a brown/orange with moderate head. Aromas of salty tonka beans, cinnamon, bready malts and a little orange peel. Flavors follow same with addition raisins and emphasis on tonka. Maybe a bit much on the tonka which hides the base barley wine, but interesting and tasty.
