Description
After few years of rest, Nambawan is back in store with a brand new recipe and taste. Vanuatu's first very own Ale is refreshing and surprising. Golden light beer with caramel and tropical fruits taste that last in the mouth and a bitterness after taste.

NOTE: It appears that Nambawan is now just a brand of Vanuatu Brewing Limited (Tusker), though information is unclear. The facebook page states "Brewed and bottled by Vanuatu Brewing Limited".

Many thanks to Nisse666 for sharing this beer! Smooth malty beginning. Watery grainy with no hops or bitterness. Quite on the watery side, mild, not even too sessionable. Nice for the new country, but grainy watery - that’s it.

Bottle plus generous sample courtesy of Thomas - cheers! My RB country #158. Pours hazy pale gold with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of malt, malt vinegar, hop, floral, hint of spice. Light sweetness and even lighter bitterness. Light body, thin texture, soft carbonation. A very light pale lager, certainly masked it’s 5% abv.

On tap at Brewery Restaurant and Bar. Pours terrifyingly pale, like a watered down apple juice. Aroma is malt vinegar, some caramel and a touch of hops. Taste is mostly water, savoury vegetation and perhaps a little caramel. It’s far too fizzy. Ultimately this is tough to get down, and not one I’d recommend. It’s like somebody mixed a little bitter into a pale lager and then watered the whole lot down.

On tap at the Brewery Restaurant and Bar. Pours like a pale fizzy lager. Aroma is faint malt vinegar. Flavour is more complex, but no more pleasant. There?s vinegar, apple and a savoury finish. Not great.

Bottle thanks to my wife. Cold. Very pale gold with a white head that doesn’t hang around that long. Very modest aroma of crackers, weeds, a little lemon. Dry with little body. Vaguely grassy, slightly bitter. Not a good beer, but not a car crash. Were they going for a local attempt at XXXX Gold? If so, it’s about right.
