A copper beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma has dry wood, some fruits, hint of caramel and maybe notes of vegetables. Aroma should be fresher. Taste is quite similar than aroma, wood, some fruits, mild bitterness, quite dry. Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Wooden and restrained.

Bottled (thanks Kimi!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some mild catpissy and dusty notes. Flavour is floral, grassy, some bready malts and wooden notes. A bit watery and thin as for palate (and flavour). Still a clean brew.

Bottled (thanks Kim!). Hazy orange colour, mediumsized creamy white head, which quite quickly settles into a small firm head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, mild spices, toffee and some slight birch sap to it. Flavour is wheat, yeast, spices, toffee and some quite bitter notes as well. A bit thin as for the palate, but otherwise quite ok. The kind of tartness in the finish is actually quite nice.

Bottle 500ml. @ Carnival Tasting 2015, Denmark. [ As Rekola / Mathildedalin Kyläpanimo Musta Valssi ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, burnt, sweet malt, sugary, ash, smoked notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long to average duration, smoked - ash, burnt, roasted, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150228]

50cl bottle. Pours dark brown, thick off white head. Ashy aroma, some smoke, some chocolate. Flavor has ash, caramel and light roastedness. Sweetness in finish but also that ashyness pushing through. Watery and thin body. Drinkable, but lacks body and too ashy.

33 cl bottle @ Cosmic Comic Cafe, BBE 27.09.2015 Aroma has bready malt, some strawberries, orange, apricot, cereal and biscuits. Flavour has somewhat aggressive hops with apricot, grapefruit, minerals, peaches, gooseberry bush and biscuits. Finishes with harsh, herbal bitterness and minerals. The fruits do not feel that fresh here, there?s a leathery feeling. And this gets even some vegetable tones at the middle of the glass.

Bottle. A dense, finger-thick light beige head forms over a murky brown body. The aroma has a touch of ashtray at first, then there’s smoked salmon touch and a hint of dried fruits. Caramel. There’s quite a lot of ashtray in the flavor too, with caramel, smoke and dried fruits. Charcoal. Some bitterness. It’s medium bodied and soft carbonation. Lasting finish with ashtray, charcoal and caramel. Sort of interesting, but too much ashtray for me. 150228

A cloudy, slightly brown beer with a blond and medium head. The aroma has strong sourness of wheat, some cloves and spices, only hint of fruits. Taste is strongly sour with wheat, spices, hint of fruitesters. The end is slightly musty. Almost medium bodied, smooth carbonation. Sour wheat, more fruits would be needed.
