Keg at Stillwell, Halifax. It pours black with a long-lasting creamy tan head. The nose is soft, ash, sweet roast, coffee, cocoa, creamy, earth, dried fruits and liquorice. The taste is bitter, earthy, charred wood, burnt malt, light pepper, treacle, ash, cocoa, liquorice and coffee grounds with a dryish finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Has decent body, but not much flavour to carry it. Fine.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark caramel color with a small soapy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was tart, bitter, fruity and had touches of honey and toffee. The flavor was tart, bitter, sour caramel, vague fruits and citrus. Medium length finish. Medium body but a bit flat. Meh.

Draught @ Barvolo, Toronto. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and roast with caramellish notes and hints of fruit. Roasty flavour with notes of coffee and touches of yeast and hints of fruit. Roasty and coffeelike aftertaste. Low carbonation. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Decent.

Bomber from the LCBO, written 6% ABV. on front label. Pours a hazy amber colour with a frothy-bubbly light-beige head, good retention and thick creamy-patchy lacing. Nice light aromas chocolate malts, sharp bitter grassy hops, citrus sourness and vanilla to calm down everything. Medium-light body with a little dry finish. Apple flavours with the caramel and chocolate malts. Hints of roasted malts with coffee, nutty yeast and mild hops to balance things. Goes down smoothly and thankful the sourness went away (as I thought it was infected).

Draft - Caramel, grains and a bitterness. Clear gold with a thin white head. Tastes just as it smells, bitterness is a little higher than expected for an English style, but still good. A slight perfume in the finish.

Draft - Caramel and toasted malts. As I drink a few of these beers, I notice a distinct yeast quality which may be their house yeast. Clear amber with a rich yellowish head. Toasted malts and some grains with a medium bitterness. Typical English style beer, although not as sweet as I would expect.

Draught at C’est What, Toronto
Black color, with creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, roasted nuts, a bit buttery. Lowly carbonated; it has a decent flavor of roasted malts and coffee, it’s also a bit buttery; correct bitterness, and some ashes in the end.
