(Draught at MacKinlays, Stockholm) Colour is dark brown to deep ruby with a thick beige head. Taste is malty, somewhat roasted, dominated by chocolate. Taste is malty with hints of chocolate, nuts and raisins. Full flavoured and complex, but still smooth and easy to drink. Well balanced and tasty, almost brilliant actually (but not really fantastic).(I wouldn’t really call it a mild ale, but it reminds slightly of stronger British ruby milds, like the one from Sarah Hughes)

2012-07-07, bottle, 5.9% ABV, 7-4-7-3-14=35
The color is very dark, almost black, with medium sized brownish head. Mild aroma of roasted malt with an impression of haring. Chocolate and roasted malt flavor, but the body is a bit too thin; dry mouthfeel; medium-low bitterness.
Good Porter, but not impressive.
2009-02-11, draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse N. 68, Stockholm, 6% ABV, 9-5-7-4-17=42
Black color; creamy head. Very nice aroma, dark chocolate and a touch of vanilla pod, creamy, with Italian espresso, light Madeira and tobacco; I like it very much. Medium body strength, but well round; it has a good chocolate flavor with light roastiness at the end, and a light sour vibe; no edges; balanced bitterness. Complex and harmonic. This is how I would like all my Porters. Excellent.
2006-03-13, draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse N. 68, Stockholm, 5% ABV, 7-5-8-4-15=39
Black color; thick creamy head. Aroma of roasted malt, ash tree freshly cut wood, coffee, ashes. Good mouthfeel, if not for a high carbonation it would be silky, with roasted malt, some coffee, light liquorice, dry, and hops; a bit metallic at the end. Solid.

Blond color; big head. Grassy aroma. Too cold; better than a commercial lager but without thrill. Quite strong bitterness.

2005 Near black; dark greige, small head. Stunning, never experienced nose of ink, naphta, and ripe pears or peardrops. Then an onslaught of both coffee and smoked notes. Initially sweetish, roasted and coffeeish, ending in near-bitter roasted barley and/or oats, carbonized even, cigarette ash, but unfortunately - Rather disappointing watery texture, really not going on a lot under that black surface. Warming up, licorice. The nose was (initially) a true discovery; the (absolutely) watery texture, alas, nearly ruins it all. Mouthfeel, brewers, mouthfeel. Such beer ought to quench both hunger and thirst. Big thanks to Björn, Anders and the rest of the Swedish babblers’ crew!!

(Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68, Mar 11) Colour is golden yellow with a creamy, but quickly disappearing, head. Nose is malty, grassy with notes of white bread. Taste has a malty backbone with hints of grass and butter scotch. Somewhat thin, but the well balanced, grassy, lightly hoppy character makes it quite an enjoyable lager.

Coca-cola colour with coca-cola head, receding but stabling itself at 1/2 cm. Very hoppy nose, absolutely unsettling for a "brown ale". Dry hops, hopbails. Strange mix of sweet, lightly bitter hopstaste, with a short-lived metallic edge, and a difficult to discern touch of sourness. On top of that, I find something salty too, apart from obvious bread flavours. It’s sounds perfect balance, but it isn’t at all! Medium bodied. Fresh hoppiness is counteracted by the bready flavours and doughy MF. It’s pleasing in many ways, yet its unbalanced, lopsided style doesn’t do it any favours. Big thanks to B&A brothers!

First ratingDraught, pint at The Rover (Gothenburg, Sweden) on February 7, 2006.An amazing American ale from a Swedish micro brewery! Golden amber color. Fantastic white creamy head that sticks to your nose when you drink it.Citrus like fruity hops in the scent and flavor. A must if you lAmerican style hops!10/5/10/5/18Rerate on March 15, 2006:Didn’t feel all that amazing this time, although still great. Scent was a bit too perfumy and the apperance and palate was not as perfect as I found it last time.8/3/8/3/16=3.8

New rating: (Draught at the Rover in Gothenburg) It’s not oak aged, but it has been in the keg for some time and it has clearly matured, for the better.Pitch black color with a huge brown head. Soft mouth feel that’s really nice. Smokey scent. Coffee and chocolate taste with a bitter after taste. Medium high bitterness. 8/5/8/4/17=4.2 First rating 500 ml bottle at Haket in Gothenburg on January 14, 2006. Dark color, buttery and hoppy scent and color. A porter that you want more of.old: 7/4/7/4/15Rerate50 cl bottle at 3 Små Rum, Göteborg. On May 24, 20112007 bottle, last one Reza had, so of this year you won’t be getting it there again.Black color, brown head. Some sweet, juniper, raissin notes in the scent. Very enjoyable, but not yet the intense matured madeira or dark ripe plums one might expect. Taste is sort of thin, but still very pleasant. Sweet, malty, rick chocolate, juniper, raissins. Smooth yet a bit to the thin side mouthfeel. Low bitterness. A very nice beer for my birthday :) Pity it gets increasingly hard to find this vintage of course.8/4/8/3/17=4.0
