Description

Preparations for Leidsch Bier started in 2003. Before that, owner / brewer JW Fukkink had been active as an amateur beer brewer since 2000. The official start was a fact with the introduction of Leidsch Blond in April 2004. With the move to own business premises (mid 2010) and obtaining the brew / excise permit (May 2011), there was finally a real beer brewery in Leiden again.

Sweet and spicy aroma. Initial flavour is spicy then some cinnamon sweetness, finally bitter, roasted malts. I don;t like cinnamon otherwise it was not bad.

At Brewda . Pours unclear brown , nearly no head . Smell is coffee , bitter , weird . Some spices . Taste is likewise , but also got this metallic / plastic aspect. Seems really off / twisted . Not clearly an infection or diacethyl, but I do think this is not alright ...

At Brewda . Pours clear amber, small white head . Smell is sweet and malty ( caramelmalts ) , taste is bitter , malty , caramely . Not really typical IPA .

Draft at The Hague beer festival 2014. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma of grass, yeast, light herbs and citrus. Flavor is light moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Sample at the Hague beer festival. Thin white head. Cloudy blobd pour. Refreshing.

Hazy light blond colour. Aroma and flavour have a light maltiness and a light hoppiness. Flavour also has a light tartness and some yeast. Refreshing.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes dunkelgoldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, fruchtig, blumig, grasig. Geschmack malzig fruchitg, Citrus, grasig, leicht hefig, bitter.
