Description
When you’re looking for a great beer experience in Suffolk, look no further than the Briarbank Brewing Company. Set just moments from the historic waterfront, in the heart of Ipswich, our award-winning, independent microbrewery and bar was established in May 2013, and we’ve been creating beers ever since.

The craft of beer-making is hard at work at the Briarbank microbrewery. Located in a light and open setting that was once occupied by Lloyds Bank, here you’ll witness our head brewer blending traditional methods with bold new flavours and techniques.

With a two-barrel (BBL) system that’s powered by electricity rather than by gas, we have the capacity to brew over 350 litres – that’s eight casks – at any one time.

Brewing two to three times every week, and with four fermenters on our line, we can produce four different beers at any one time – certainly a unique brewery operation in Ipswich.

Gravicask, 1/3 pint at GBBF Winter '23. Shared with Finn. Near-clear golden body, lacing rings down the glass, low white head. Moderately citrus nose, orange scent. Citrus taste, orange and grapefruit, bread-like malts in the background. Rounded ripe fruity end. Fair enough. (Burton upon Trent, 17.02.2023).

1/3 pint, gravicask shared with Finn at GBBF Winter '23. Warm golden body, close-to-clear. Poor lacing, missing head. Ripe orange aromas, scent of mildly sweet brown malts. Malt-fruity flavours, caramel and orange. Ends dry, malt-fruity. Satisfying. (Burton upon Trent 16.02.2023).

1/3 pint, gravicask shared with Finn at GBBF Winter '23. Nice golden-brown body, clear. Scattered lacing from a covering beige head. inviting smell of nutty caramel with fruity support. Caramel fruity flavours, nutty as well. Mid-sweet brown malty end. Pretty decent. (Burton upon Trent 16.02.2023).

1/3 pint, gravicask, shared with Finn at GBBF Winter '23. Clear mahogany coloured body, dotted spots from a low, beige head. Promising caramel-fruity aromas. Fine balanced taste of bread, caramel, and a piney touch to a satisfying bitter sweet ending. Well crafted for the low abv. (Rating no. 23000). (Burton Upon Trent, 16.02.2023).

Gravity cask at the GBBF Winter 2023 Festival, day 2 at Burton On Trent Town Hall, 17/02/23. Golden orange with a just off white cap. Nose is mellow citric zest, grass, orange peel, airy malts. Taste comprises soft malts, melon, tangerine, toasted grains, straw. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness. Decent golde.

Gravity cask at the GBBF Winter 2023 Festival, day 2 at Burton On Trent Town Hall, 17/02/23. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a good sized white cap. Nose is bitter sweet citric peel, grass, melon, soft malts. Taste comprises orange zest, airy malts, toasted grains, light breads. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with light juicy hop bitterness. Decent.
