Tap. Gold, white head that lasts OK. 6+ Aroma of crackers, spices, some stone fruit. Drier than guessed with crackers and hints of stone fruit before firm and q spicy bitterness. Interesting, rustic, drinkable.

Tap. First non-highfalutin beer from these folks. Mid brown, fading pale beige head. Toasty aroma with some spice gentle citrus. Dryish somewhat grainy with toast, some citrus. Decisive spicy bitterness - somewhat yeast driven spices? Good. Proper quaffing beer.

This version is 7.0% ABV. Deep gold with a white head that's soon less than a coat. Funky aroma of old stone fruit, oak, grape skins. Just medium bodied, perhaps slightly slippery with lowish carbonation. Peach and shyish apricot with an oaky, vinous finish that's not overdone. Not trying to be shouty. Lovely balance.

Bottle. Dramatic red, head fails to form. Aroma of sweet and tart berries, cheese, leather, oak. Berries and a fair bit of body with some welcoming sweetness. Tart and slightly creamy before a twiggy and oaky finish. Not trying to be too complex. Great beer.

2022 version.Pours pale gold with practically no head.Nose shows heavy funk, brettanomyces, green apple, lemon pith, floral notes. Flavours include pear, apple, reasonable horseblanket, a gentle acidity. Quite dry. The funk is not as overpowering as in the aroma.
