Since the 12th century, orchards scattered with juicy apples, were a popular sight in Scotland. Globalisation and lower transport costs lead to cheaper imports from overseas and the orchards were lost. We’re looking to reverse this process, one sip at a time and restore a traditional part of our much-loved heritage and countryside.
Our mission is to bring Scotland’s orchards back, one sip of cider at a time.

500ml bottle from Lost Orchards Cider Mill, Muirhead, Dundee. Vibrant purple-red colour, no lasting head and aroma of ribena, blackcurrant, blackberry. Taste is sweet, some crisp tartness, with berry fruits, blackcurrant, blackberries and underlying fleshy apple. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, sweet berry finish with alittle tartness. Quite OK.

500ml bottle from Lost Orchards Cider Mill, Muirhead, Dundee. Orangey pink colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of sweet strawberry flavouring, candies, life savers. Taste is sweet, strawberry flavour, sugary, candy-like, with some citric lime notes. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, very sweet finish. Too sweet and artificial.

500ml bottle from Lost Orchards Cider Mill, Muirhead, Dundee. Sparkling, very pale yellow gold colour, fizzy white foam head that rapidly dissipates away and aroma of fruity red apple with hint of sulphur. Taste is sweet, crisp, fruity, fleshy apple, juicy, with some citric acidity. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi-dry fruity acidic finish. Quite drinkable.
