Can courtesy of Baz, cheers mate, had this Friday 31st 2020 at Landgasthof Kastlhof Campingplatz, Pillhausen after Yotem Ottelenghi Khoftas listening to the new Fontaines DC album - A Hero's Death . Pours looking every bit like a Guinness in the way it settles. Coffee, creamy, super smoothness, vanilla, really easy drinking for the abv. The only negative is its lactose heavy and I am not a fan of lactose.

Keg at brewdog Lothian road. Pours deep ruby brown, nose is roasted, chocolate, liquorice, dark fruits, taste is bitter chocolate, roasted, toffee, little dusty.

Can. Fruity nose. The beer starts quite sweetish with not much bitterness. Easy to drink, dry in the aftertaste with lots of dry grain. Floral grainy, sweetish dry with a sticky fruity aftertaste.

Draft: Poured a pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma is big nose chocolate, licorice, roasted malts. Roast booze bam to the palate, chocolate, licorice, coffee...Black Is Beautiful!

Can from Tesco. Brown-black with no head and the slightest of fizzes. Lovely aroma of coffee (obviously!), vanilla and chocolate. It tastes pretty good too, albeit maybe not quite as good as it smells - the alcohol is a tad too evident, giving it the flavour of overly boozy tiramisu. This impression is aided by the smooth, creamy mouthfeel. A touch of sweet spiced nut comes through along with a light woodiness.Very heady stuff. Sweet, but with a little roastiness and a dry finish to balance. Lovely brew for a late night sipper. Yum. Can't believe you can get beers like this in Tesco these days!
