Draft at Bar Hop, plane change enroute BRU-DCA. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Aroma of bright lemon. Taste is softly sour tart lemon. Tasty.

On tap at the Ottawa Beerfest. It pours a very pale lemony gold. Tart coozy funky aroma. Incredibly tart, acidic salty & wheaty. The beer makes me think of... Salty sweet goodness...

On tap at the Ottawa beerfest. An opaque gold with a filmy head. It has a bitter pine needle bouquet with a decent malt backbone. Medium bodied with a tongue-scrapingly bitter body. The taste is supremely bitter pine - one dimensional but good for hop heads.

On tap at the Ottawa Beerfest. An opaque copper gold pour, fizzy white head & great lacing. A bready spicy  saison aroma, citrusy tropical fruits as well - no surprise as it is hopped with Amarillo & the yeast is the same as saison DuPont. The taste is the kind of saison flavor I like , spicy citrus, a bit of funk, some wheat & bready quality from the malts. Easy drinking stuff.

A strong peppery taste combined with resinous and grassy overused hops are discouraging me from appreciating this faithful to style Saison. Olfactif: on y sent dès le départ la fraicheur des champs. De fortes notes de poivre et d’épices accompagnées de note herbacées et de menthe poivrée. Est-ce l’intensité du poivre ou cet accent d’herbes brulées qui me repousse malgré l’honnête complexité des arômes? Visuel: blonde / dorée, légèrement floue, bonne mousse, bonne effervescence, maintient assez long. Pas beaucoup de traces dans le verre. L’entrée de bouche nous ramène cet excès de notes phénoliques avec une touche citronnée. La finale est herbacée et résineuse, la rendant sèche et astringente. L’effervescence est très active, ce qui la rend très rafraichissante. La texture est entre mince et moyenne. Les fruits sont bien présents; la mangue surtout et quelques agrumes. Mais, l’aspect résineux des houblons, combiné aux poivres puissants, m’empêche de l’apprécier à sa juste valeur. Assez conforme au style cependant.

Bottle, kindly donated by Netty, many thanks. Very dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Taste, roasted malt, coffee beans, chocolate, notes of licorice. Long coffee bitter finish.Alcohol is dangerously hidden. Tasty.

Bottle - Sweet, sour citrus and funky yeast. Hazy gold with no head. Lively carbonation, bright tartness, some grape and a yeasty finish. Carb may be a bit overdone, but a nice refreshing beer anyways.

Draft - Grapefruit and pine. Hazy copper with a rich white head. Pine a grapefruit with a nice caramel background. Bitter and pithy throughout.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy honey colour with a large fluffy white head. Nose is yeast, wheat and spice with some lemon and honey. Lightly sweet fruity star followed by tart citrus and a dry spicy finish. There is also a faint metallic tinge that is a bit distracting. Light mouth with active carbonation.
