Description
The Humblet family was in search of a site to build a new brewery & continue their tradition and long list of beers brewed by their father, Benoit Humblet.
In 2011, they discovered the farm of Bertinchamps, dating back to 1343, situated not far from Gembloux.
Although extremely old and decayed, the farm had stunning character, situated in an environment that equals its prestige. It was time for some rejuvenation and the renovation project began immediately. Almost 2 years of remarkable work and finally in March 2013 the brewing system was installed in the old barns. Ultra modern fermentation tanks of a capacity of 6.000HL, an astonishing contrast of modern technology and the farm dating back more than 7 centuries.

Clear medium golden colour, two finger flocky white head, recedes after a while to a thin layer, some lacing. Fresh fruity aroma, apricot, some banana, grain, citrus, grassy hops. Taste medium sweet, fruity, slightly bitter. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation. Aftertastebitter with light sweet and sour tones. Decent beer but it feels kinda incomplete...

500ml bottle from Chez Marie, Ieper. Pours a clear blonde with good head. Nice sweet tripel esters in the aroma. Very well-blended taste with sweet & spice in harmonious balance. Delicious tripel. Must search out this brewery’s other beers!

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Nice dark red-brown color with a dark red glare coming through when held into the light. Small beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, candy sugar, slightly dried fruits, fruitpeel from old overripe fruits and weird. Average to medium body and carbonation. Don’t exactly know why but I don’t like it.

The first commercial beer from this young Wallonian micro, with a loosely structured, snow white head and brightly golden blonde colour. Nose gets apricot, freshly cut pears, flowery and grassy hops, dried apricots and cheese. Subdued fruitiness in the mouth, lightly refreshing sourishness, medium carbonation, worty and grainy basic character, finishing mildly grassy bitterish.

Pale blond body. White, fizzy, fastly diminishing head. Dull, uninteresting aroma. Lightly sweet flavour. No mistakes, but that’s about it.
