I have a 22 oz bomber picked up at a Trader Joe’s in Dallas about 2.5 years ago, one of my few big bottles remaining. It is opened and going into a Cowtown snifter. I see a mahogany body finished by a strong head of dark khaki foam that quickly settles. The scent is chocolate fudge, scorched grain and a hint of vanilla. The taste is, I have to say, surprisingly good. Cocoa powder, chocolate cake, licorice, toasted malts and just maybe a bit of black plums. Moderately sweet and there is a slight bitterness offset. The alcohol is completely covered. I recall this beer being a bargain when purchased, doubt I’ll ever see one again. Unfortunate.

Can. Golden in color with a two finger head. Aroma and taste are both well balanced but it's just an average beer.

355ml can from lowcostbeer.com, 6 weeks past BBE. Look - hazy orange, small off white head, nice lacing. Nose - orange, pine resin, vanilla, grapefruit. Taste/palate - sweet and resinous, orange, vanilla, very smooth in texture. A touch of tartness in the finish with a mild bitterness. There are some Milkshake IPA elements to it without going to far. Fairly soft carbonation, just a slight touch of zing to it. Very enjoyable.

Hey, there are not a lot of bomber bottles being sold out there, and this is about the same price at Trader Joe's that Lagunitas bombers used to be. Pours black with a bit of brown, under a foamy tan head. Nice roasty coffee nose. Keeping in mind this is aged in charred oak, not a bourbon barrel. But the taste does have a bit of bourbon character. But then the stronger impression of stout roasted malt comes in. Turns out to be kind of a dry stout. End result is actually pretty nice. Alcohol building in slowly.

22 ounce bottle from Trader Joe’s in Princeton, NJ. Jet black pour has a dark tan head that settles to a creamy ring. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and charred oak. Flavor is sweet roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, dark dried fruit. Some oakiness and warming alcohol. Decent flavor.
