Description
Winning innovator on the Belgian beer market with brands such as Maes, Cristal, Desperados, Grimbergen, Affligem, Strongbow and Mort Subite.

Maes Pils volgt in 1946.

0,25 bottle. Rusty-reddish barrel, slightly reddish when filled, but more grayish foam, which disappeared immediately. Fine, cherry-sour intense fruit aroma, a bit of a "jam" effect :) Quite pungently carbonated, medium-bodied. Tastes like a Belgian sour beer, I would say more like a cherry-sour mixture. Alcohol is hidden, a slightly bitter aftertaste is felt, with a slight barrel flavor. It was not bad at all.

Ízre hozza a belga meggyes sör színvonalat, inkább cseresznye-meggy keveréknek mondanám ízre. Alkohol elbújtatva, némi kesernyés utóíz érezhető, egy kis hordós beütéssel. Egyáltalán nem volt rossz.

Smooth mild beginning. Grain, hints of bread, no bitterness. Easy to drink, a bit watery with a grainy finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cristal 0,0% on 07 Nov 2023 at 23:22 - Score: 5. opalescent pale golden colour, large, though not so stable white head; aroma of grainy, peachy, some citrusy, dried apricot, floral and green herbal notes; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with hoppy bitterness and spicy aftertaste; good one

Clear blond colour, white foam. Light sweet, malty, some light metallic taste. Boring, but not worse than Jupiler or Stella.

Can. Apple juice golden. Hay, veggie straw, starch, sweet boozy apples. Taste is sticky starch, rather flat, soft bubblegum mouthfeel, with a surprisingly heavy boozy aftertaste.

0.33 l bottle from 'Trinkgut Knödgen' as 'Grimbergen Double Ambrée', best before November 2024. Clear, dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, marzipan, honey, raisins, coconut, some overripe banana and a touch of chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity taste of caramel, chocolate, coconut, marzipan, overripe banana and raisins, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent ale, quite tasty actually. Have had it before but never got to rate it, was probably about nine to ten years ago.
