Sample at Solothurner Biertage, may 2019. Dark brown, almost black body with a small tan head. Frankly not really sure on what style this is, it was just called Barrel aged dark ale. It feels like something in between a stout and a barley wine, still lighter in body and not particular high in alcohol. The Bourbon barrel flavor is quite dominating so the beer might even be something else but I just have to go for something. Aroma is dark malt, not very roasted, some wood, hint of vanilla and lots of Bourbon with a touch of dry fruit. Flavor is like aroma, sweet dark malt, dry fruit, wood, vanilla and lots of Bourbon. Medium body, does not feel sticky sweet or to heavy and Bourbon sweet aftertaste. A bit vinous actually.

Sample at Solothurner Biertage, may 2019. Unclear golden body with a medium sized, lacing white head. Aroma and flavor is dominated by acid berries and fruit like passion fruit and gooseberry with some lemon and just a hint of pale malt. Medium body and sour fruity aftertaste. Refreshing and nice.

03.05.2020 - 0.33l bottle at home (from biermarkt?), 5% abv, bb 05.10.2019. pours a hazy golden with a huge frothy head. aroma of soap, perfume, yeast, spices (cardamom, nutmeg). flavour of candy, soap, lemon. a bit like a belgian or golden ale with spices and lemons. weird but interesting.

0.33l bottle from basler bier markt. pours a hazy pale golden with a huge frothy head (the bottle is several months old). yeast, herbs (nettle? not sure), slight vegetables and fruits. sourish, but it might be just that the bottle is old.

24.02.2020 - 0.33l bottle from basler bier markt, at home. bb 05.09.2019. pours black with a frothy beige head. aroma of roast, chocolate, balsamico vinegar. flavour of balsamico, chocolate. sourish (too old) and somewhat bitter finish. was probably better when fresh.

28.10.2019 -- 0.33l bottle from basler biermesse, bb 08.09.2019. a gusher. pours a cloudy pale golden with a big but quickly diminishing head. aroma of funk, spicy hops, flowers. flavour of flowers, citrus zest, slight funk. tart, not too dry, no bitterness. interesting.

30.08.2019-- on tap at basler biermarkt, 4fr/0.2l. pours a hazy deep amber with a quickly disappearing head. aroma of medicine, booze. flavour of bourbon, wood, plums. boozy, medicinal. definitely not a stout.
