Draft at B&G. Mostly a yeasty farmhouse nose. Hazy gold, short-lived foam. First taste brings in the white rind-y side of a watermelon slice. No extra sweetness, or unfiltered watermelon pulp. Did not get the expected watermelon taste, in other words. Gets back to a slightly sweet, still yeasty farmhouse beer taste. Still something different, and I can get behind that. Some slight tart wraps it up.

16 oz. can from Orange & Brew. Pours surprisingly pale and yellow, like a light lager. Fizzy head that's gone in an instant. Big nose of cinnamon and vanilla right off the bat. Taste is, um, definitely spicy. I'm catching nutmeg with the vanilla now. Not much malt, I think. Does leave some stickiness on my lips. Alcohol comes up rather sneakily. I can't really say the base style is a favorite of mine, and spiced up beers can go wrong too easily.

Flavored porter, not a Belgian ale. 16 oz. can from The Bat Cave. Pours a really dark brown root beer color with a light tan head and decent retention. Almost no lacing. Molasses and dark fruit aroma. As advertised, flavors of dark chocolate, dark fruit, and some coffee notes. I should have read the can first; These are not my favorite flavors. Not getting any smoke or herb notes. All these flavors hide almost all the porter flavor. Medium body. Low carbonation with a slick mouthfeel. Low bitterness. A miss for me.
